Mary began harp studies in the Milwaukee Public Schools. After moving to Houston,she taught public school music, free-lanced and subbed with the Houston Symphony and Ballet orchestras. She served as president of the Scottish and Folk Harp Societies. Mary and husband John are active in Afghan Hound and Golden Retriever Rescue. They own Afghan Press Music for harp, and Melody's Traditional Music.
